Taking portraits in a studio with props that have been used over and over is not a reflection of individuality. If the photo backdrop consists of real locations, the photos will not only reflect the person being photographed, but also the places that are important to them as a senior in high school.
Typical photo session locations include downtowns, parks, ballfields, and back yards. If a high school senior has great memories spending time with friends in a local downtown or park, it makes sense to take photographs there.
If you are located outside of southeast Michigan and you get several friends to book with you, we will waive or substantially reduce our travel fee. If 3 or more book together for the same day and location, we will discount our session fees too. We welcome clients from Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Toledo, and elsewhere.
Portraits by Rod is priced using a simple, easy-to-understand approach. There is no forceful salesperson pressuring clients to buy packages they don’t need. The photo experience is designed to be relaxing and enjoyable.

I promise that these "monumental" photos capture the real you. No cheesy posing next to the vintage coke machine (unless you love coke) or against the bay of fake lockers, no props with huge cutouts of your graduation year (sorry, even if you love that you are the class of 2011, it's not happening), and no crazy "cool" psychedelic backgrounds (honestly no one really wants to have their senior pictures on a tie-dyed background from 1980)....I promise that these "monumental" photos capture the real you.
